Astrology is a Science in India

Citing the failed predictions of whether or not Indira Gandhi and Charan Singh would become Prime Ministers, Janhit Manch, Bhagwanji Raiyani, and Dattaram Kumkar filed and action against ‘fake’ astrologers.

The Bombay high court ruled that astrology is definitely a science.  That it has been time tested for over 4000 years. The Supreme Court already too a look at this issue back in 2004, and at that time made the same ruling. This made it possible for colleges to consider adding astrology to their syllabuses.

India’s west zone Deputy Drug Controller, Dr R Ramakrishna, said that The Drugs and Megical Remedies Act does not apply to astrology and other related sciences, and he states that astrology has been an accepted and proven science for over 4000 years. This act is designed to stop misleading advertising for magic remedies and relating to drugs, and has nothing to do with any practice using astrology applications, such as Vastu, Reiki, Feng Shui, Tarot, Palmistry, Zodiac Signs and Rashifal.

There are many governmental and educational organizations in India, which support the courts findings on astrology. The evidence is in how many different colleges offer astrology now as a science, as well as many different affidavits that government agencies have submitted to the court.

Janhit Manch may agree with the findings of many other scientific minds throughout the world, but astrology has stood for the last 4000 years, and India is not about to let that change. So for now, astrology is a science in India. There are a lot of online degree programs available on Astrology on the fly these days.
