Advances in electronics are constant. We have gone from dissecting the improved graphics of the yearly John Madden football release, to trying to find the games that involve using the most body parts. While Nintendo has come a long way from the original 8 bit graphic cartridges, advancing to a system which reads your arm movements, there is still a lot to be said for their original gaming system. In fact, some of their games are just downright classic, even twenty or more years later. Such games include
1.) Mike Tyson’s Punchout- There has rarely been a more colorful heavyweight than Iron Mike Tyson. Fittingly, the characters in this game are just as colorful. While Mike Tyson represents the final fight to win the game, first you would encounter characters like Bald Bull and Sandman. This is simply one of the greatest boxing games of all time.
2.) Baseball Stars- There were many great baseball games for the original Nintendo, including Bases Loaded, R.B.I. Baseball, and Tecmo Baseball, but only one let you create your own team. Baseball stars allowed you to participate in tournaments and when you win, you get money that you could apply to categories like speed and power to make your team better, It was among the first games to let you build the team you wanted.
3.) Nintendo Golf- Yes, the original. Any golf game you come across thse days makes it pretty easy for you. By this I mean that in the original Nintendo, you would start off with a driver for each hole and you’d have to choose your own club. As you can imagine if you don’t know how to play golf, this can be quite a hard process. The real beauty of this game is that you actually figure out what club you need when you are a certain amount of yards from the hole and this translates into real golf as well.
